Yukari Tamura?

On Wikipedia they've got a separate entry for NiGHTS as a character in Journey of Dreams. Some of the info seemed a bit wonky, though, especially this: NiGHTS' voice actor in Japanese is singer Yukari Tamura .
I double-checked her list of voice acting work, and it's there too. I know I've been kinda haunting the forums lately, but as far as I recall JoD was released in English with subs in Japan. Am I wrong, or is this information accurate? I know Wiki can be unreliable at times, but usually they don't mess up with two separate pages.

I'd say that's false. NiGHTS Journey of Dreams never had japanese voices.
I tried a quick google search with Yukari Tamura and NiGHTS (in japanese), but I couldn't find anything about this. And Yukari Tamura's japanese page on Wikipedia doesn't mention anything either.
However, look at this:
on July 1, 2008, someone added:
The "live actor" line was removed on July 7, 2008 and the "Motion capture actor" one on August 4, 2008.
On Yukari Tamura's page, NiGHTS was added on July 15, 2008, probably because of what was added on NiGHTS's page. Also note that NiGHTS was added under "Anime" instead of "Game".

Wow, Yukari Tamura is an awesome Voice Actor... Still I hope it's not true since I don't want to picture NiGHTS in Nanoha's Dress shouting:"STARLIGHT-BREAKER!" or even worse, as Rika from Higurashi O__O"*noo NiGHTS, throw away that knife!*

I thought as much after I dug around on YouTube for awhile. Tamura's a good VA, mind you, but as NiGHTS...that would just ruin the andrygony. More than it's already been tarnished.
Lol @Lenneth's comment on NiGHTS in Nanoha's dress. I don't think anyone wants to see that.
...Then again.... *bricked*

IDK, it wouldn't surprise me all that much if it was true.

The only way this could be true is if she was NiGHTS' VA for NiD, since JoD wasn't dubbed to Japanese. I'm still skeptical since there's no source whatsoever. Does anyone know if her official website or Japanese Wiki lists this as well?

I already said the japanese page on Wikipedia doesn't mention anything about NiGHTS.
Her japanese website doesn't mention anything either, but it seems the list of her performances hasn't been uptated since 2005.

Sorry, I skimmed the first part of your post and thought you only did the Google search.
I just thought of something... Weren't we told outright the game was only subbed in Japan? Or am I misremembering things?

The voice-acting was the same in all copies no matter what country, yes - only the subtitles are available in multiple languages. We were all looking forward to German!Reala or something like that, if my poor memory serves me correctly. XD

Here's the facts as i know them:
1. JoD was recorded in various languages with different voice actors for the regions INCLUDING japan.
2. Due to some reason (most probably time) every other version was canned and English with subs was used in every version.
3. This was a last minute thing, perhaps they couldn't get the actors in on time to redo a few of the lines.
4. The voice/language director (who is a very nice bloke might i add) declines to comment on anything to do with multiple voice versions... so my educated guess is that it's true.
5. Confirmed it on Saturday with an inside source (again) that NiGHTS did originaly have a Japanese voice but it was removed (which puzzled them).
So this Tamura lady was most probably NiGHTS in the JP version of JoD but was never credited because they decided to not use any other languages. Perhaps it was the English accent thing (maybe ST decided it was something they wanted to be universal).

So does that mean that there were still lines recorded in other languages that haven't been 'made public'? I'm sure curious to hear those.

The other languages were on quite late builds, so perhaps they are still present on the disc itself? Though that would take up a lot of space, they probably deleted it all

I'm sorry to insist, but did anyone actually read my first post? The person who added Yukari Tamura as NiGHTS's japanese voice actor, also added a line about a live action actress. I may be wrong, but it seems to me that either that was vandalism, or there's a live action NiGHTS movie I haven't heard about.

She might have been involved with mocap stuff though, that qualifies as 'live action' sometimes.

But a motion capture actress was also added, separately from the live action actress. She might have been involved with mocap stuff though, that qualifies as 'live action' sometimes.
(and none of them are in the game's credits, by the way)
Seriously, why is everyone ignoring my post? It took me some time to do that research, you know.

But isn't it possible that "live action" refers to "booth babes" or something like that? In which case that is legit?

Its just pretty random that someone would make up info like that for no reason... i mean why that person specificaly unless it had been mixed up with an anime of a similar name or something?
This is funny XD

We're not ignoring it, we're discussing other possibilities. Just because one fact was wrong doesn't automatically mean the other is. (And, really, I would hardly call those edits vandalism.)Seriously, why is everyone ignoring my post? It took me some time to do that research, you know.

Hey, I wasn't complaining about people who were "discussing other possibilities", I just felt too many people didn't read my post at all. Though I think I overreacted. Sorry about that. We're not ignoring it, we're discussing other possibilities. Just because one fact was wrong doesn't automatically mean the other is. (And, really, I would hardly call those edits vandalism.)
But yeah, right now there's no way to know for sure whether Yukari Tamura was NiGHTS's voice actor or not, but since Wikipedia is the only source we have so far, you shouldn't give it too much credit unless we can get more evidence.

Theory!
Tamura = TGS lady?
Most of the images of Tamura I've found from idle surfing seem to have some heavy Photoshop/camera bloom going on, so it's a touch difficult to compare them to the shots from TGS. That, or I'm terrible at comparing photos. What do you guys think?

Oh, thanks.
Well, it's hard to tell if it's the same person. The TGS shots are a bit blurry.
And I guess I'm terrible at comparing photos as well, because I can't even tell that Yukari Tamura is the same person by looking at different pictures of her

Aye, I think it's the editing that's been done to her photos. I'm having a hard time finding pictures of her that don't look like they've been touched up.
Since I'm actually running on enough sleep today (lol), some analysis.
The blur on the TGS photos is definitely not helping, but at the very least we can tell that TGS lady is Asian. I think *sweatdrop*. And she has thick, blunt-cut bangs like Tamura, with dark brown hair. Can't tell length, unfortunately, and her ears are tucked into the hat/obscured from view, so no luck on that comparison either. She and Tamura also appear to be of the same stature, but that's not solid as the perspective from the TGS photos differs from that of full shots of her that I've seen.
</amateurish analysis>
