Well, at any rate, the negativity of the IGN review and some others can be forgotten thanks to this glorious score from Gamesradar. Behind the black highlight curtain rests the final score, and a summary of their impressions. Voila.
By the way, this is my inaugural topic. Treat it well.

The review.

These sites seem to be having one heckuva time keeping Helen's name straight.

It's not Hanna.
It's not Helena.

It's Helen, a name that's neither rare nor uncommon.

I think he said he wanted to add the kids sections because thats what people wanted in the original. maybe he didn't realise that the only reason people wanted them in the original was because it was so new and exciting to have a 3d world to run around in back in the days of the saturn!! especially when saturn owners would first have seen mario 64. but now, we've seen this type of stuff enough and just want the flying sections!

Also, I need to know, do we have any snow levels?!

That's a good point, back when NiD came out 3D gaming was still in its infancy, and the kids' play was a new thing. But I think it's now clear the kids' sections should be limited to the pre- NiGHTS portion of the dreamscapes, where you can choose to wander around hatching Pians and strategically collecting chips. That, or actually make the kids' play interesting. I still like my Ideya Persona concept. Seriously, Iizuka, did you think anyone would have fun walking around throwing chips?? Stupid!

Looks like Frozen Bell has been left as a standalone.. I see no version 2.0 in JoD.. I was thinking about that the other day. Might as well though.

Sega did all kinds of things to their games in the pre-Saturn days to try to compete in terms of 3D. Was not Saturn to be a primarily 2D machine until Sega got wind of the Playstation, and then they added in all of the complex stuff to actually get the Saturn to do 3D? I think that NiGHTS suffered the same fate, as they never would have added the 3D sections at all without Mario 64 looming.

I am just guessing, of course.
