Today I saw the film with my cousin and his friend. It was a bit darker than the 2001 series but it wasn't too dark that it wasn't Spider-Man and though the tone was made to be more serious they were smart enough to keep the humor in it. That's the thing I was worried about most when I first saw the previews. I thought they'd up and tried to turn ol' Spidey into a certain bat we all know and love but thankfully that wasn't the case.

But yeah, if you like Spidey or just superhero films in general then I think you'd enjoy this. I can't say if it will wow you like Avengers wowed people (because... well... I'm one of the suckers who didn't see Avengers) but I can say it will leave you feeling like you got your money's worth.

I lurved me some Spider-Man. I got ban'd over at the Nsider forums for telling a guy I'd burn his house down, 'cause of some page long rant he wrote about how awful it was. I was, of course, joking, but you know how people are.

Anyway, I cried when Uncle Ben died, as opposed to my "meh" attitude toward it in the other series. I'll be damned if this isn't the best Marvel movie yet.

I loved Spider-Man when I was a kid. I thought the first two movies were great. But I'm not gonna lie, I have zero desire to watch this movie; I'm way too familiar with Spider-Man's origin story (even if it's slightly different) and I hated the director's other movie, (500) Days of Summer.

Frankly, I think they should have kept Sam Raimi on board as director. Yeah Spider-Man 3 was awful, but it was mostly awful because the producers were insisting on cramming in a ton of stuff Raimi didn't want in the movie. I understand that Sony had to make another movie or else lose the rights, but this just seemed unnecessary.

I'll also be honest, I'm pretty much done with superhero movies in general. So maybe I'm not the target audience, but it just strikes me as being really uninteresting.

Spider-Man usually bores me, but I really liked this movie; it was very personal. My friend thought it was forgettable, though, so draw your own conclusions.

Was about to make a thread for the sequel, just as well I searched first :P I'm a fan of the Ultimate Spider-man comics (though I prefer the earlier stuff with Bagley behind the artist wheel) and so The Amazing Spider-man was right up my alley (lol) as it follows a similar route of being a more modern interpretation of the original lore! I much preferred TAS over the early noughties ones for various reasons, though you've got to hand it to the original trilogy's Green Goblin and Doc Ock for being brilliant!

I just saw The Amazing Spider-Man 2 today, and while I wont post plot spoilers I'll say that I loved it, for having a lower budget than the first you certainly wouldn't think it! There's lots of little cool things throughout, and one that I personally thought was actually kinda cool was a particular song from the score. There's little whispers throughout it that suggest the mad thoughts of Max Dillon, something that I thought was a nice touch! Also all the air diving sections of Spidey's web swings looked fantastic in 3D! I'll definitely be going to see it again!

Oh man, Amazing Spider-Man DOS!! WooO!

Amazing Spidey is very enjoyable and I feel the pacing was even better than the first one. With that said, I haven't seen the first one since the first one came out so take that last line with a grain of salt. Regardless, Amazing Spidey 2 kept me thoroughly entertained from start to finish and I couldn't wait to see what else was going to happen in the plot. Once the ending came I was kind of upset because the film was coming to an end. That's pretty rare for me.

I feel like I should have seen this film in 3D but those sequences were still spectacular in the standard theater. I loved those scenes so much. Kinda wish there were even more.

Saw number 2 also, I think this was the first Spidey flick I caught in the theater. Saw it in 3D too. I enjoyed it, though it bugs me how they shoehorn three villains into one movie, though I guess Rhino might as well be seen more as a cameo in this one.

Funny thing is I made myself a Spider-Man costume last year so since then I find myself analyzing Spidey's outfit while I watch the movies, lol. Mine could use revisions just as the costume gets revised every movie.

Not a bad costume. I find it quite impressive actually. I'm wondering if you wore it to the theater.

lol thanks, nah, a friend was wondering if I would. I said maybe if we went to a fancy premiere I would have made the effort to wear it. As it stood we went on a rather unbusy weeknight.

Yeah it was my second real sewing project, and I barely spent any money on it, so that aspect is cool. But there are definitely ways I'd wanna fix it up, like fixing up the feet with soles in a better fashion and giving the mask lenses somehow. I can manage to see out of the painted fabric (to my surprise), but not clearly enough. Depends how much more of an investment I wanna make. Also I painted the entire top's red area hoping the fabric paint would live up to not making it stiff, but there's only so much it can do. As it is it can bunch up a bit, though it would help to have a better way of attaching the top to the bottoms; adhesive velcro wasn't strong enough. I think I may need to re-make the top and stich on the red areas with fabric, prior to stitching the front and back together.

When making it I referenced this other dude's awesome Ultimate Spider-Man costume, though he went all out on the expense, getting it custom sublimation dyed and such, I ain't about to go that route.
