I agree about certain small details being overlooked, though none of them really bug me all that much. Except for maybe the kids being a bit too lanky, it still puts me off a bit. And yeah I thought it was just me getting NiGHTS stuck in the ground. I can also say that I was expecting more detail in the boss levels, I don't know what but just something a little extra with them maybe? Though there were certain changes, like Stick Canyon being so dark (I actually used to hate that level but somehow I like it a lot more now), that I really liked. And the clarity still blows me away. But yeah it'd be nice for certain technical details to be fixed up.
As for the SFX and BG music, the volume can be lowered for both. Go to the Help & Options>Settings menu. And I thought there had always been two suns in Gillwing's place?

I like the idea of them starting as themselves, hadn't heard that detail but I definitely would love that. It does make the most sense that he'd transform for his special move, I totally forgot about that aspect of the game, which seriously does fit NiGHTS and Reala I've just realized. I really can't wait to play the game to get the full effect of going from a car, to a plane, to all kinds of whatever and wherever this game goes.

Yeah I'm really psyched to see this thing! 
I was wondering the same thing as Nemoide, though I think what he meant was what exactly are you going to do with the sign when it's finished? Is it just to hang up in your room, or do you mean its only a practice for making other signs, or will you be selling it?

I know I probably shouldn't, but I'm starting to kinda love the sound of this idea. I had completely forgotten about the trick ribbon but that makes it so much better. Does seem a bit complicated now with the mare balloons, but maybe the balloons could come into play during his boss battles or just his battles against NiGHTS, which I kinda suspect would be happening at least a few times again.

I don't know why this thought came to mind but perhaps even his moves could be that same kinda different. Like since NiGHTS' Paraloops get rid of Marens and Pians, maybe Reala's do the opposite, bringing Maren forth. Not Pians though, that would make even less sense than my original silly thought. And if they kept the mission idea from JoD maybe his first mission is to chase and capture NiGHTS. Sounds really crazy but I wouldn't be completely opposed to it, well the keeping missions idea at the least.

I was thinking the same thing with the "Mare Balloon Toss" thing for Reala, kinda like in JoD except of course he'd probably use canons or something since he is the vehicle. If not that, maybe it would be more of a speed boost type of move that knocks anyone he touches back a few paces, definitely not as cool as the nod to JoD idea though I think.

Finally got my computer to play the vid in higher quality than the first time I saw it and I just can't believe how awesome the levels look! So bouncy fresh, if that makes any sense. Also, I now realize that the music does indeed sound kinda dance-y mixed and I wasn't just imagining that the first time I heard it, I love it as well. Didn't know Puffy would get a cameo, I think I would have expected to see Jackle if any other bosses, but still the more the merrier.

Holy wow....that video....WOW!!!! That looks so beautiful and I want this game so bad now.
But yeah, it does kind of shock me with the Pian and not having any of the kids as driver choices.....but I don't even care I want this game! The levels! So amazing! I was really hoping for Soft Museum or Delight City but at the moment I seriously don't want anything but that game

Haven't actually gotten to see any of the game but, vehicles or not, I am loving that NiGHTS is in it! I think I am actually convinced, for once, that I really want to buy a racing game right when it comes out- or when I can afford it.
As for who else I'd love to see in it? I'm gonna go with Ristar, now there's another Sega oldie that's been neglected for too long in my opinion.

Wow I am surprised to find myself so interested in this concept and all of these ideas. I normally am not a big fan of doing missions for "the bad side" but I really like the thought of Reala's game play being like NiGHTs' but of course with their objectives being different. I particularly like that "Nightmare Gates" idea and I would not be opposed to Reala's mission having some claw using or some subtle fighting elements.
The boss battling is the part that is the trickiest for me to imagine though. I can see using the dreamers as his boss fights and having him stealing their Ideya but then I start to think of it as more of a chase mission, to catch them a few times each and fill them with nightmares. It would be easier to think of for me if they had more than just NiGHTS as the guardian of Nightopia. Like having boss battles that are just like NiGHTs' but against different levels Nightopians as opposed to the different levels of Nightmaren, but of course the only Nightopians there are would be the little Pian guys and that just defeats that idea.

In all honesty I think a better challenge would be to find the rare and well hidden good fanfiction, I've seen a lot more bad than good but that doesn't mean there aren't some amazing ones on FFN I'm sure, though that would be for a different thread of course.
Pertaining to this thread, I normally have a hard time reading bad fanfiction even just to laugh at it, but dang some are just ugh! And seriously what is with that NiGHTmare/NiGHTmaren thing? Just from page 1 to 2 of a NiGHTS search and I am seeing it everywhere. I'm assuming most of these fics might have surfaced thanks to JoD bringing NiGHTS back when it did but there are subtitles in that game right at the bottom of the screen, how are that many people not paying attention or even caring? That's probably the biggest problem with some of these bad fics, they just don't care that much and I think that's one of the things that get's me the most.
Rule number one of writing fanfics should be that if you're going to write it- know the source material inside and out. Know it, love it, live it and then if you really feel it....write it!

I was thinking to myself that it looks to be a port of the PS2 version what with all the similarities, the kids lanky arms being the most noticeable to me, but either way this is amazing and I am so psyched to play it!

This game looks and sounds amazing! There's something so vague and mysterious about it all that makes me really want to give it a try. It'll be a while until I am able to purchase another game but this one definitely sounds worth the money. Thanks for telling/showing us this awesome treasure
