#27022 Dreamcast 4 up in the morning

Posted by Lunar on 24 November 2007 - 06:09 PM in [ARCHiVED] Misc

You know... That tongue twister idea is interesting... Not that you have to, I mean. But you know ;D

Right then, I'll shut up lest I incur the wrath of the bunnyman.

#26980 What are you listening to right now?

Posted by Lunar on 24 November 2007 - 10:40 AM in Community Corner

Dreamcast 4, yo. Digi's choice of music.

Something that WON'T make me scared to turn out the lights XD

*snort* Oh God... I'm listening to this thing as I type, and Digi... Don't try that Scottish accent again XDDD I think I died a little bit, from shear laughter. I think Salem gets major points for that one. And Purg was awesome, and so was everyone else, and, well, I shouldn't be allowed to listen to this stuff at 4AM. Well, I could go on as I listen, but I should stop before sleep dep. starts making me jabber too much.

Ahhh~ I need sugar now. Cheers you guys XD

Edit: Oh, and Trippy... I do believe your choice in song is gonna give me nightmares ._. *shivers* I'm only a little afraid to turn the lights out now...

#13821 Release Date Pushed Back

Posted by Lunar on 28 August 2007 - 10:46 AM in [ARCHiVED] JOD Discussion

Yeah, but that's Europe. We in America just kinda chuckle and smile to those in the UK ^_^

Either way, more time for development and polishing is ALWAYS a plus. And, really, there's no point in worrying too much over something we can't really control. Or, say, making more worries then needed.

#11977 Top 10 Fav Artists

Posted by Lunar on 20 August 2007 - 09:46 AM in Community Corner

In order:
Skillet
Thousand Foot Krutch
Linkin Park
Disturbed
-no order-
Three Days Grace
Drowning Pool
KJ-52
Johnny Cash
Common
Rob Zombie

And many, many more from all different genres. I really don't pay much attention to a bands/songs genre. If I like the music and lyrics, or lack of lyrics for instrumental, then I'll listen.

#11494 Download or from the shops?

Posted by Lunar on 16 August 2007 - 09:39 AM in Community Corner

I mainly buy the CD's/use a friends and burn it onto my computer. But I also get songs from my net friends through the magic of IM. Limewire is like, virus haven. I don't touch it. Even if I get a lot of my music from the net, I always buy the CDs of my favorite bands, if only to support them in some way.

Besides. I don't have an MP3 player. CD player = need for CDs.

#10063 Show 3 online

Loved the Podcast. Course, I did that thing again where I listen to while trying to sleep, and end up not actually sleeping cause I'm LAUGHING. I have a job now. This could be bad? XD

I have a question, but it's real related to the cast itself, so I'll drop you, DiGi, a PM on it. Overall, nice job. Very amusing, informative (seeing as how I dun actively search for it), and all around well done. Cheers to the both of you. Now, I'm off to bed, as it's 7AM and I have to work at 12PM.

#7615 Lunar's Art

Posted by Lunar on 14 June 2007 - 03:33 AM in Creative Stuff!

Chris and the Blue Zones, yo. Not sure why I had him.. kinda sorta rap XD Seemed like a fun idea at the time.

14 year old Christopher Sky couldn’t believe this. He was standing in a back alley on the outskirts of the East Side, of all places, and was fully expected to do some thing called a ‘Rap Off’ against the leader of the Highlanders; the strongest gang on the East Side. Two things made Chris worry. 1) He had never really rapped or cared much for it. 2) He was alone. His gang, not just the Inner Circle, had been made to wait about 15 minutes away. So now, he was alone, surrounded by East Siders, and had to rap.

He hated today.

Right after I bring down the Red Zones, too… Ugh… Alexander VI, with his football jersey down to his knees, white bandana around his head, with a sideways hat on top and super baggy pants, walked to the center of the circle now around Chris. His fingers were adorned with rings and he had a gold (probably real) medallion of a money sign around his neck. Apparently they called it ‘bling-bling’.

Chris on the other hand wore a dark blue t-sh!t, black cargo pants with frayed edges and holes in the knees (that certainly weren’t bought that way), worn out sneakers, and a black corded necklace with the black side of the yin-yang as it’s center piece. But what really let everyone know just who he was, that being the ‘Prince of the Blue Zones’ and technically of the West Side, was his spiky, light blue hair.

Alexander’s light blue eyes bore into Chris’ dark navy. Or at least they tried to. Alexander was finding it hard to keep eye contact with the younger boy, much to his distaste.

“What do ya want, Alexia…?” jabbed Chris with a sharp smirk and cold tone. Immediately the crowd threw back insults at him, and Alexander was livid. But the insults bounced off of Chris’ hard mental shell, and the boy ignored the older’s anger completely. After regaining his composer, the older boy but his hands behind his back and spoke with a tone that screamed elitism.

“Why, it’s quite simple. You and I are going to have what my brothers in the hood call a rap off. We shall go back and forth with rhymed insults until the other can say no more.” Chris could have gagged. He had heard the real ‘gangstas’ talk and, though still found it utterly stupid, they at least sounded good doing it. This guy was an obvious wannabe.

“Fine. But we gotta ‘ave a beat, dun we?” He knew beat, if nothing else. Break dancing always had to have a fast paced and bouncin’ beat after all.

“Indeed. My personal DJ has provided the music for this competition.” Competition my ass…, thought Chris with a look of boredom.

The beat started up, and Chris was handed the mic. He had 60 seconds, and only one real chance to save the West Side from these guys.

“Ok. I see how this flows.
Thinkin’ ya can jump and get in a few blows.
But honestly now you’ve made a mistake.
I may not like rap but YOU I can take.

You seem ta think I ain’t got the right style
And if it makes ya happy just stay in denial
You’re all posers and wannabes and haven’t a clue
So bring it on little man, ‘lezz go foo.’

I’ll inject this rhyme like venom in your veins
When I’m through with you’ll be cursin’ my names
There’s no vaccine so you’re all but screwed
It’s your turn now so can ya be renewed?” He threw the mic at Alex, who seemed caught off guard. In fact, the whole room wasn’t quite sure if this was for real. Alex composed himself again and began.

“So the little punk can rap
Sounds like crap
You midget boy got nothing on the number one hat
I’m better then you and that’s a fact

Blue hair, ripped jeans
Shirt torn at the seams
Having decent clothing is only your dream
I’ll be kicking you down until you scream

Face it little man
You came without plan
Your rhymes are as scary as a fish or clam
Here’s the mic, but you should just scram” Hoots and hollers went up, but Chris didn’t even look effected.

“You’re kidding me, right?
You call this a rap fight?
Dissin’ my clothing ain’t even insulting
On the other hand your face is pretty revolting

Did your mommy pick out that brand new shirt?
I bet she’d cry if you fell in some dirt
Those little rings are some tight bling-bling
Too bad it doesn’t help your rhymes anything

Go back to your East Side stuffy resorts
Your rap is vile and ya got no retorts
Little boy thinks he can be a street dog
But all I’m seein’ is a dressed up hog.” Chris smirked and Alex glared as he caught the mic.

“You’re one to talk about being a dog
If I could I’d give a you a good flog
Go play fetch or run in a bog
Cause in reality you’re the hog

I hear you called the Mutt of Timber Bay
Well you little stray are about to pay
Get back in line and start following our way
Or be put down and learn to stay

Your father I hear was just a mechanic
Poor working man just couldn’t stand it
I bet he left you to get a better life
God knows all you do is cause strife” Chris was shaking in rage. He tore the mic from Alex and began. Alexander didn’t know this would be the last rhyme though.

“Shut up you damn Richie before it’s too late
You think I’m so stupid to have my gang wait?
Right at this moment you’re all surrounded
Let’s just see if you can match me kid

A dog I am and we travel in a pack
We just wait and are cool until the attack
So one you made the mistake of calling me
Two you decided to go on a bash spree

Now number threes the real kicker here
I’m gonna give you a taste of real fear
We’re gonna show you a real street fight
I’m gonna be the one with the braggin’ right.” He stopped and slammed the mic on the ground. It shattered with a high pitched squeal and from the shadows blue pieces of clothing surrounded them. Bandanas tied around the arms, shirt, hats, vests, belts, every person around them wore some form of blue.

“The games over, Alexander.” Chris smirked and drew his knife. “I wonder what would happen if I cut up that shirt, eh? Maybe put some holes in it and make a look a little more street like? What’s wrong? Not happy with how this turned out?” Alexander’s eyes were wide with fear. All this time Blue Zoners had slowly and quietly been taking his guys out until only they were left around Chris and himself.

He could hear knuckles cracking, chuckles from the crowd. Chris stepped forward, and it was all he remembered until he woke up the next day in the hospital.

So now that the cat's here you come back?
Where were you girl when I was on the attack?
It's been weeks so dun be snide
You ran off awhile ago to hide

And as for the lyrics- or attempt at least
You're worse then the crazy feline beast!
There was NO rhythm there at all
You started out fast but went down to a crawl

Between Clawz and me we could eat you three
NiGHTS, dreamer, and the Pian with a cup o' tea
We'll sit right down for a game of cards
After the craze cat rips you to shards

Face it, girl, you've lost your beat
You don't have the rhyme to play with elite
Dreamers shouldn't mess with the Marens of night
So go back to your own realm and fly a kite

You've been gone too long
Haven't got a song
Can't play the game
When you all say the same

I'm a new kind of reaper you could say
I'm a little bit loony and love to play
Grim and dark death is boring and dull
Get with this game, NiGHTS, before you fall

I really don't care what you think of my place
I'm still the Mare and you're still the disgrace
Mr. Oo looky me I can fly and spin
I would think of all people you know fun ain't a sin

You see you're mister hero
And the rest of us called zero
But go on ahead and let the girl from your sight
I'll take the Ideya and all shall be right

We're all still here. Gone only in the game
To think Marens can really die is just insane
We're the darkest fears and inner black
Let down any wall and we'll be there to attack

It's a bit quiet though
Battles just a little slow
Can't the others take this heat?
Are you the only being to beat?

Sorry, had to. My other friends from California and I always go at it. But anyway. Welcome! As you obviously know now I'm from the more northern part of Wisconsin and on the net you can just call me Lunar. Cya around the forums.

Oh please. Do you really think you're making hits?
You keep yapping away but continue to miss
Maybe in the new game you'll have better aim
Too bad it can't improve your rhyme score the same

You can laugh and point at the lack of center
But I can mess with your mind no matter your gender
Or lack thereof as the case here would be
But what does it matter to a Maren like me?

Try again NiGHTS cause your loosin' your sheen
You might wanna hurry before my rhymes slice your being
You can't twirl forever and expect to win
In fact in the sequel you need kids yet again

Can't do anything on your own can you?
You depend on dreamers like a machine needs the screw
You're useless without them and you know it's a fact
Stop trying to act tough cause you're spittin' out crap

Come then jester man
What's your plan?
Let round two begin
Though I know I'll win

Looks like arguments abound no matter what forum you hit.

Anyway. I only read the comic as far as what Trip has- and oi.... I haven't even played the game but the dialog's cliche, the art works is like... dead... and oi... >_< I think DiGi would do a wonderful at ranting about Archie and their terrible 'comic'.

You're in the sequel that I'll admit
But you look like a ballerina you idiot
Fluffy frills and nice pearly gloves
They're really trying to un-Maren you cuz

But maybe the new frilly look can work
Hermaphrodites can wear anything from ties to skirts
All flying around like the dancer you are
Trying to look pretty and be the big star

I have a new game for you NiGHTS
It involves rolling the dice and you loosing twice
Gotta make up for the past mistake, right?
We'll see who' still looping to ungodly heights

You were owned in the ass and had to be saved
By dreamers no less who now won't behave
The little girl here is stepping on your hat
And you're sitting here just watching the attack

Couldn't find the rhyme?
Getting lost with time?
You don't belong here
So get moving square

#6110 NiD Rap BattleGround

Posted by Lunar on 23 May 2007 - 02:18 AM in Creative Stuff!

I hope you know you're not one to speak
NiGHTS got lucky but you just went squeak
The clown and dreamers at least played the game
You just went fishing and acted all tame

The cards don't lie and you're in trouble
Now Reala's here and he'll hurt you double
You have no right to talk all big
If you had fought you'd have snapped like a twig!

I eat pians like you for lunch and dinner
I'm a pro at the game and you're not even beginner
You say I haven't a middle and call it a shot?
I say read the manual again cause flames need to be hot

Your little 'insult' was ice cold and shattered
By the time the Mares are through you'll be in tatters
It's a new game now and the rules are my style
They won't be very nice but certainly vile

With a slight of hand
You'll be crushed as sand
The Master's gonna rule
So stop fighting like a fool

Oh ho ho the girls got spunk
She just took that pian and made a slam dunk
You're pretty smart, for a dreamer that is
But lets make it clear you're no rhyming whiz

You laugh at the mantle but I laugh at YOU
Just wait till you sleep and we'll see what's new
You're all this talk and badmouthing the Jackle
But in reality your little poems make me cackle

You're threatening to punch us right out cold
Blah, blah, blah your talk is old
Without that purple jester you're nothing but normal
You're not special, not strong, and that's just being formal

I give props to you for messing with NiGHTS
I'll laugh it up when you smack the pian from sight
But if there's one thing I know it's with me you're lost
Don't try and act tough cause you're not the boss

I'm still number one
I'm still top gun
The girls got some brains
But the pians insane

#5963 NiD Rap BattleGround

Posted by Lunar on 21 May 2007 - 09:21 PM in Creative Stuff!

Your little gang here makes me cackle
A traitor and a little girl is easy to tackle
But now some Nightopian wants to play?
That little fairy food has nothing to say!

Little NiGHTS here decided to rebel
He was beat up bad and placed in a cell
Then comes some dreamers who save his ass
He's proven to all Mares he's got no class

And you little girl with your long pink hair
You act all sway only when NiGHTS is there
They call me a joker but it's gotta be off
Your terrible rhymes and words make me scoff

But oh now the real laugh is comin' in
The little fairy lunch thinks it can win
Come a little closer you delicious snack
We'll play a game where I stuff ya in a sack

The jesters old news
The girl's lost a few screws
The pian's just a snack
But hey, Jackle's back

#4263 NiGHTS' Ideya

Posted by Lunar on 05 May 2007 - 11:30 PM in NiGHTS chit-chat

And a horrible story at that.

Anyway; my thoughts are pretty much the same as those who've said it's just for decoration, and maybe a visible sign of courage. Really though, I've always just seen it has a NiGHTS thing, just like the other Nightmaren have their own thing. Jackal with his mantle, Reala with... himself, and so on so. No need for a deep meaning or anything.

#4106 Creative questions and answers

Posted by Lunar on 05 May 2007 - 03:06 AM in Creative Stuff!

Actually, good books help. The key is making a good combination of lit. and real life to fit yourself as an artist. Some people, books work a bit more then real life, for others drawing from eye works better. But you can draw from eye with a book too. I don't mean do the whole 'Draw a circle for the body, then add a curved line for here, blah, blah' cause I can't stand those either. If anything looking at a book on manga, or still life, or whatever to just get a feel for the lines and shading, will help you. The more you do and the more you try the better you get, is what I've always seen to work well.

#4105 Your Number 1 Favourite dream

Posted by Lunar on 05 May 2007 - 03:01 AM in Dream Discussion

Dream: I was walking with Ross in the fields behind his house (he lives on a farm in the middle of nowhere pretty much) and we were talking. We must have been around 11 or 12, is my guess, and it was a cloudy day and real windy. We were talking about monsters (like Godzilla) and Star Trek and all that cause we're cool and then the wind picks up. I'm almost blown over but manage to stay up and Ross is having some trouble too (but he's always been strong and such) and we look behind us and BAM- there's Lillian. At this time we thought Lillian (Ross' older sister) to be this invincible being that could like, survive a nuke.

We were weird. Still are. Anyway.

So Lilly was like OMGRAGINGMAD and it was like she was the reason the clouds were all thundery and stormy. We look at each other, screamed, and ran. Lilly started chasing us (a common event back in rl) and we came to a some random woods. Even though at that age, and still even now, we were good at moving through thicks woods, we got even better. And it was weird. Now I can say it was ninja like but at the time it was before ninjas were so big. So we were dashing and jumping and Lilly's on our tail and suddenly I trip- of course- and just before Lillian gets me Ross pulls her hair (a common defense maneuver we used back in the day) and we Double Teamed her.

Eventually we lost and I woke up all weired out, but now I can look back at it and enjoy it.

Why was it special to you?:
It was something that we really did, yet had twists that gave it a surreal feel. I got to hang out with Ross, and we had an adventure and fought for all that was right and good by fighting the evil Lillian. I don't get dreams that make that much sense (or have a real plot you could say) anymore. Now mine are just weird XD - fun though.

How long did it last roughly?:
I couldn't tell you. How long in real time it lasted. Dream time, if there IS such a thing, it probably lasted about 15 minutes. Cause Ross and I didn't run very long, and the fight was fairly short. Maybe 20 minutes.

Were you lucid?:
No. Most assuredly not. I had this dream when I was around 11 or 12; before I cared much for dreams. My interest in dreams, and art, has come in the last 2-3 years.

Did parts of it confuse you?:
Not really. The dream was pretty straight forward and probably the result of not only what frequently happened when awake but also the combined exaggerations of Ross' and my own imaginations. Yay for wild imaginations <3

If you could see it again would you want to and why?:
I'm not sure XD Considering that Lilly and I are 'sisters' (at some point I was unofficially adopted into the family XD) it wouldn't fit anymore. Would certainly be funny to tell though- and maybe try for some lucidity.

#4102 Creative questions and answers

Posted by Lunar on 05 May 2007 - 02:38 AM in Creative Stuff!

I'm self-taught as well; as you said looking at pics from pros helps A LOT. I say art books as in the ones for serious learning that covers the basics, tells of the anatomy, etc, all actually drawn out. Giovanni is good because every picture, example, lineart, etc, in his books are drawn by him so you get a better feel for the lines. But I also look through books with pictures of Van Gogh's stuff, and other artist.

But as you already said, doodling and practice is what it all comes down. Though I don't recommend it, excessively, during school classes XD;;

#4075 Creative questions and answers

Posted by Lunar on 05 May 2007 - 12:35 AM in Creative Stuff!

And imagine =D

My art teacher (well she will be next year but I talk to her now) once told me that anyone who can write their name can draw. Everything takes practice, as DARiA already said. I suggest going through a book with pictures, maybe one that uses your style or just something completely different, and just look at the pics. But look at how the lines connect, how the shapes are made, etc. Search for tuts, buy books (if you want to learn realistic drawing I suggest The Complete Guide to Drawing by Giovanni Civardi). The nice thing to learn about realistic drawing, with paying attention to drawing the details in the facial and anatomical details, is that you can then use that for developing your own style. Even manga and anime artist (and I'm talking the pros here) probably had to learn anatomy to an extent, shading for sure, and all that other stuff. Even if you dun use it, having the knowledge is always good.

I myself am starting to learn to draw more realistically, and it gives you a very different (but not bad) perspective. Tuts, books, and if you can outside classes are all good. But the main thing is to just practice, practice, and practice. (Tip- try sketching with pen and get use to not using an eraser if you can.)

Sorry if it's long winded. ^_^;
