Yeah, Cap had a bad ass moment in that trailer. And i agree over Trish as well. Seems a waste of a character, can't figure why they chose her out of such a massive catalogue of characters.
Regardless, trailer is awesome. |

I think we'll do more of this, regardless if they like it or not, lol!
It's nice to not have a direction and planning all the time. Especially if nothing 'NiGHTS' related is happening, we can just jam and talk about anything. It's all entertaining .....isn't it? >.> |

QUOTE (MORRiS1113 @ Sep 2 2010, 11:43 AM) as for material itself, I'm sorry but Journey of Dreams didn't do anything wrong, OK it sorta changed how Ideya Works but its not like that really mattered a great deal. The overall Execution was poor. but JoD was NiGHTS Into Dreams just with More Levels (32>6) Any day. Nope, sorry. That's a bit farfetched now. NiGHTS into Dreams felt VERY different in terms of how the concept of time was against you in the game. JoD altered it to a point that it wasn't even the same threat anymore. That's where the game fell off and fans couldn't get to grips with how JoD played. It was different. The thing with NiD was it taught you how to squeeze fun into every available second that you were dualized with NiGHTS. The game was crafted with the point of collecting the Ideya's in the level and if you wanted to further challenge yourself you would relap the stage and chase time down to the very last second to get those scores. JoD butchered that concept by removing the Ideya goal and have you chasing birds instead. You were no longer trying to chase down every last available second you had when dualized, you were now responsible to chase after a solid object moving around the level. And once you had you could no longer relap. The flow of the game play was MAJORLY changed. And when the flow of gameplay is changed hugely like that it then changes the overall feel of the game itself. And i highly doubt you could count 32 levels over 6 when everything outside the flight levels was gimmicks and unneeded fluff that derailed the whole point of playing NiGHTS in the first place. I really don't think you should be coming in here and asking this community what we wanted from a NiGHTS game when you yourself have clearly overlooked one of the main fundamentals that structured the experience of NiGHTS in the first place. |

Agreeing with what Viper is saying. If a third game does ever happen it will need to be a hit. We couldn't get away with another "meh ...it's ok" title. The original NiGHTS was loved by almost everyone who played it, with only a minority that said they didn't get it. It's because of those people who enjoyed it that the cult status occured in the first place, with outsiders becoming interested in this game we kept hyping about. JoD didn't do that, not even in the slightest. It may get it's own cult following a few years down the line but it ain't going to be happening right now and what we need right now is something solid to really cement NiGHTS' name on good ground.
If a third game ever happened it would need to be a success with us fans and then those reviewers. I don't think we would ever get another chance after a third game to rectify the mistakes made with JoD. It's a gamble, of course. What we really need is Iizuka and SEGA really paying attention to what is being said when/if they craft another title.

A lot of people will say "NiGHTS 3? But the Wii game sucked, you're destroying the franchise" but they're continuing to overlook certain key factors that are in place right now that weren't there before. And these factors can make all the difference.
For starters, this community wasn't as connected to SEGA as it has been recently. Back when JoD was happening i was a little younger and nieve in thinking SEGA would pull through, and my execution of that Project SEGA was not to the best of my ability.
Since then i've been putting myself and my loud mouth at SEGA constantly. Not to be a pain in the arse, but to show SEGA this fanbase and how passionate we really are about this series. And if they're thinking of continuing the series then they really need to be listening to us right about now. We're not as diverse in opinions as the Sonic fanbase so it will be easier to hit the mark with us. And when you hit the mark with the core fanbase then word of mouth does the rest.
JoD is nice in some ways, but i'd be lying if i said i wasn't disspointed with it. It certainly was nice in areas but not worth a decade of waiting. I know Iizuka's caught wind of the feedback for NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. The reviews were not amazing, and they all seemed to focus on the same things - voice acting, too many gimmicks and not enough flight, chasing birds and sh!t etc. Iizuka can see clearly where it went wrong, we've all been saying the same thing in regards to it.
So why is Iizuka now talking about a NiGHTS 3? Because chances are high that it's because of us. From NiGHTS' absense in ASR, Iizuka must have been notified of that and saw our campaign running, making a couple of headlines and stuff. Now we're all about porting the original game and interviewing Naka san. Iizuka caught wind of this too, i know Naka had to contact him directly at one point when answering some of our questions.
The fact of the matter is here that Iizuka is now currently aware of what made JoD score so low. He also wants to try again because with JoD the upperheads at SEGA kept moving the project around and that didn't help development either. To top it ALL off, this community has been making a crazy amount of noise for such a small cult following within the last year. He's heard about us. From the interview they had with him during JoD's production right up until now with the Naka interview, Iizuka knows exactly where online the fanbase can be found. And it's here.
So, as of this moment, this community has never had it better. And before i totally write-off a NiGHTS 3 as a failure i would like to take my chances to see just how much this community is able to influence a third game. 5 years ago we were ignored. Now they're paying attention.
As i said, we're in a better position now than we've ever been. Sit tight and let's see what we can do. |

I think they keep labeling the same old ones over and over again simply out of repsect for what they managed to achieve in their life span.
If it was me, yeah i'd pay respect to those games too but you wouldn't see me making it number 1 because there have been other games that i have enjoyed more. I guess every list really is just down to personal taste at the end of the day.

QUOTE (iLLViLLAiN @ Aug 26 2010, 06:46 PM) I'm just happy that someone from SEGA is mentioning NiGHTS again. When the magazine comes out, can someone scan the full article? I'm sure someone will. I'm with the people who are concerned about a NiGHTS 3 being just another JoD again, that's my main worry too.
But at the same time, i know it doesn't take a lot to make a good NiGHTS game. As stated, we've only had two full games to compare to one another. If Iizuka takes the feedback from JoD and looks at what made NiD so great he could honestly craft a good third game.
Remember people, if this was the Sonic fanbase there would be too many people to cater for. We are lucky in the sense we are smaller and our opinions seem mostly matched on certain things regarding the NiGHTS franchise.
If there ever will be a NiGHTS 3, NiD needs to be released first so people understand why the cult following is here. Then Iizuka will honestly need to look at both games and realise what made NiGHTS so great to begin with.
Again, it's not hard to make a good NiGHTS game. They just need to be in the right frame of mind to make it happen correctly.
Also, one thing they certainly don't need is the upper heads at SEGA moving the game around every other month and screwing production time. That's always another pain in the arse. |

Yes, my thoughts are this - we've been making a lot of noise lately, contacting Yuji Naka for that interview we did resulted in Iizuka getting involved since Naka spoke to him about us lot, now 'Zuki-baby is thinking third game. All i can say is, port the original game first. Let people experience the original. Then follow similar format for the third game. You'll see a better response on a third game if you let everybody play the first one and understand the difference between NiD and JoD. .......... ..........'Zuki-baaaby!! WHASSSSS 'APPENIN? Lol, i see.
Well, at the end of the day all i am really requesting is that people try and find a way to make it over here. Don't put yourselves in bad situations of course, real life is more important than any convention.
But all i am suggesting is if there is a route for people to take to make it over here for next year then strongly consider taking it.

QUOTE (Leonhart @ Aug 13 2010, 12:21 AM) I'm so coming next year. ^3^ Indeed, i hope many others from this forum will also be attending. There will be reasons too. QUOTE (SmashQueen @ Aug 13 2010, 05:00 AM) The only way of any of that ever happening is if somebody pays for my ticket. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) Dang it... (I refuse to be such a burden.) There's no harm in asking someone for a holiday to London during which time the con lands on. Have a chat with family members, see if you can arrange something. That last statement goes for anyone who really can't afford to come by themselves, you really won't wanna miss next years one. |

Yeah, a NiGHTS con would be awesome indeed! I doubt we'd get many people turning up though, seeing as nearly 50% of the fanbase comes from America ....and we all know how lazy American's are when we ask them to save their money for a ticket over here! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (light-hearted joke, man. light). Nah, in all seriousness, if i can i'll try and get a little bit of NiGHTS in at the next SoS in some shape or form but it won't be down to me of course, that'll be up to AAUK for the most part. I have an idea that i would love to do regarding NiGHTS at the con but it's something that would need to be discussed with said person. Naturally, if something NiGHTS does happen then i'll let you all know because lord knows i wanna see more NiGHTS fans come to SoS XD;; |

Actually, that's something that Fen mentioned there that i would like to echo. People are nice. And they don't shun you if you don't understand a joke or something, though if you're from this SEGA neck of the woods then i'm pretty sure you'll lol whenever Pingas gets mentioned, haha! XD Seriously, last year i was bit reserved but this year i realised there was no need to be. Everyone there is there for pretty much the same thing, we're all on a level, unlike Anime cons where everyones there but has different Anime's they're interested in. It's just a great crowd to be in, believe me. Speaking of great crowd, Crush 40 ended with them playing Live And Learn from Sonic Adventure 2 and it was just as awesome as the Open Your Heart tune they did. Especially when everyone shouted the "yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah!" part. Seriously, forget football/soccer chants. Just get a bunch of SEGA fans into a venue and they will level the house down, haha! Oh, the Trocadero in London? The old Sega World place? It's just a massive arcade now, all the SEGA related stuff has gone, sadly. They took that stuff down years ago. But in regards to SoS, if you've ever been a Sonic fan in your life, at any point at all, even if you ain't and you've been a NiGHTS fan instead, you have to come to this con. Seeeeriously. I can't believe you guys missed out this years con. The only bad thing about is was there was no air-con working properly and they're probably choosing a different venue next year anyway, the convention itself was beyond fantastic. And let me tell you, whether you like Crush 40 or not, the private show they gave us ROCKED! And i'm a rapping sorta bloke, but hell i was jumping and waving my arms like a loon with everyone else. The vibe in that room was just awesome. Especially when "Open Your Heart" came on. The build up they gave got the crowd going nuts, it was SOOOO good. I can't wait to see them again next year. Johnny is hilarious, he loved the way we were all reacting to the music. Me and TRiP got to speak with Jun Senoue himself. It was so surreal and awesome. Here's when they were about to start playing Open Your Heart, i found this on youtube and the sound ain't that great but it's an idea of what the atmosphere was like. I think a better video may appear soon. Open Your Heart was a massive moment for a lot of people in the concert. - Crush 40 Live - Open Your Heart |

Haha! That was just TRiPPY making a little light-hearted joke with a comic strip. When she found out that Winter Of NiGHTS spells W.O.N when abbreviated she couldn't help herself but make a comic for the con bag, lol.
Sadly, there are no plans for a Winter Of NiGHTS convention ....but perhaps we may be able to sneak something NiGHTS related in to next years SoS, providing i don't get beaten up by DreadKnux and AAUK in regards to the idea's i have! XD;;;;
We shall see, eh. |

You know what? Those who were thinking of coming to this convention but didn't should have come. I can not tell you how AWESOME it was to be there. Anime conventions ain't got nothing on Summer Of Sonic, i swear down.
Next year, i strongly request all you NiGHTS fans who are somewhat interested to start saving up money now and come over for this thing. I know some of you said you'd come and couldn't because it was expensive but i've just come back from this years SoS and i can't begin to tell you how fantastic this convention has become. You couldn't explain the atmosphere in the place, it just reaches unbelievable levels of awesome.
So, i truly strongly request if you were ever thinking of coming over to the UK for Summer Of Sonic then start saving for next years convention. It's gonna be Sonic's 20th birthday, as well as NiGHTS 15th so no doubt i'll be sneaking something NiGHTS related into next years con, haha! XD
You will NOT be dissapointed. Save money starting NOW and you'll have enough to come. If your parents are looking for a family holiday next year tell them London.
Summer of Sonic 2011 will be held on June 26th, three days after Sonic's 20th Birthday. You will NOT want to miss this, trust me.
Be there. |

Misled or misread, either way there's no NiGHTS on XBLA. Yet. Obviously, we're working on that XD;
So, what's happening this weekend? Well, a certain blue hedgehog (forgot the buggers name now) is having a convention that of which me and TRiPPY will be attending. We have made some really REALLY cool NiD15 related leaflets that will be going in to the con bags, it has a nice mini comic strip that TRiP drew that WINS, lol. We'll post it up here after the con is over so you can see what it looks like.
There are estimated near on 800 people potentialy trying to come to this years convention so if we can get their support too then it'll be a nice booster to that counter.

We did have a FaceBook page for the previous campaign we did earlier this year, and while it did help spread the word a little it didn't generate as much support as we would have liked. Ironicaly, this method of making a website specificly for NiD15 has resulted in better amount of support, more than we could have hoped for. Chances are, even if you have a facebook page you probably already know about this campaign anyway so it's kinda pointless making one.
That being said, there are already a few different NiGHTS related pages on FaceBook where the news of this campaign has been posted so people are aware this is happening. If they are not then i guess this news really is flying over their heads, lol. |

All i can say is we hope to see your site back up soon. You've always put so much work in to your site and it would be a shame if we didn't see it again, so please let us know when the site is back!

It's one thing that TRiP said after we saw it - that they didn't explore the kind of opportunity you get when you're lucid in a dream, to go nuts with the world you're in and do crazy stuff. You see glimpses of it, like when the girl realises she's dreaming for the first time and basically has fun with messing around with the dreamscape. But for a large percentage of the film they rarely do stuff like that. What i do have to raise a glass to is the fact that rather than just brush this off, the film actually has it's own reasons as to why altering dreamscapes can lead to consequences.
So, sequel anybody? Perhaps in the next film they could cut loose with crazy dreamscape altering stuff. Like a dreamjacker who comes in to mess with your dreams on purpose or something. Either way, there's potential for at least a sequel. I wouldn't say a triology but certainly a sequel. |
