A lot of neat discoveries have been made recently regarding new
secret content included in the PS2 version that wasn't in the original Saturn
game. This page will soon be replaced by a summary of the PS2 version and
exactly why you should import it!
Stay tuned for more details!

Over the festive period SOJ updated with a proper website to advertise
the PS2 remake. It's so nice to see them reusing old art and familiar things.
You can visit the website here for such goodies as comparison shots and
character descriptions. Also make sure you take their banner and use it
to advertise the game around your blogs and suchsuch.

News that came in recently tells us that the Playstation 2 version
of 'NiGHTS into Dreams' is also coming with the equally legendary 'Christmas
NiGHTS into Dreams' game, too. TRiPPY predicted Christmas NiGHTS would come
with this PS2 port in our podcast show, DreamCast. Well done for knowing
how Sega thinks, my dear. XD
If Sega fails to release all this outside of Japan then i feel this entire planet will be heading towards Sega HQ with more than flame lit torches, trust me.
Come on, Sega. You wanna please the fans that have waited over a decade then make like the old Nike slogan and 'Just Do It'.

In the recent interview with Iizuka in London, the question regarding
the release for PS2 NiD in USA and Europe came up, to which Iizuka said
that PS2 NiD is a JAPAN ONLY release...for now. So, if the demand for a
global release on this PS2 version of the classic original is high enough,
they could very well bring this out of Japan and to other countries.
In light of this news, Mike has begun a FaceBook petition page to have this
game hopefully release global too. An article on the petition can be read
at SegaNerds - here.
Show your support and be sure to sign the petition. I personally think that
Sega will eventually bring it out in other countries because they certainly
would be shooting themselves in the foot if they don't. It seems that now
is the time, more than ever, for the NiGHTS fanbase to act upon the franchise
so be sure to let Sega know we want this to release outside of Japan too.

Now
officially confirmed by Sega Japan a new webpage has opened for this game:

I
was a little bit negative about this remake when i first heard about it,
probably because I've never been much of a Sony fan. But the more i hear
and see about this little project it actually makes me more excited than
the upcoming Journey of Dreams.... Is that strange?
Claris looks wonderful! Lets hope that rest of our beloved old cast look
this shiny.
Write to Sega and DEMAND this game is released in the west plz.
I am a happy fan (repeat x 10)
A new piece of news reached the forums today in the shape of an article from Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu. Sega have yet to officially announce it but it seems that the news is very much legit considering it has screenshots from the remake to back it up. The game is touted for Japanese release on 21/2/2008, a short time after Journey of Dreams on the Wii is released.
The game will feature spruced up PS2 graphics and 16x9 wide screen support. Extra's which seem to come from the previous Christmas NiGHTS gallery are also included along with a movie viewer mode. Perhaps the new Gallery will include unseen original development artwork? I hope so.
Quoted
from IGN:
"Sega is releasing the PS2 version of NiGHTS: Into Dreams at a
budget 3,800 yen price point. Fans will also be able to select the 4,800
Nightopia Dream Pack, which includes a picture book."
So far it would seem to be Japan only... which doesn't make much sense, but hey, any nostalgic NiGHTS release is a good thing because it gives new players the chance to experience the magic over a decade later. I'm left wondering if this game is perhaps linked to the news we brought you months ago about a second NiGHTS game on the Playstation dubbed 'Twilight Adventure'.
We will keep you up to date on this exciting (yet weird) news as we learn more.
