One of the best NiGHTS cameos in years, NiGHTS and his Extreme Gear the Dream Sleeper appeared as free DLC for Sonic Racing Crossworlds! Before their truimphant inclusion though, NiGHTS already had an old-but-gold additional cameo appearance in the Radical Highway track, with the return of the NiGHTS head on top of the building; this time in a more holographic form!

Announcement

Then came the initial announcement of NiGHTS as a playable racer (shocking no-one given his appearance on the back of the game box), where AiAi and Tangle/Whisper were also revealed!

It was a fantastic reveal, showing a great deal of NiGHTS' personality in both the trailer and promotional images released alongside the announcement.

Unlocked At Last!

So come December 2025 and NiGHTS was unlocked ingame, captured here in this video!

If you play Crossworlds online you can communicate to each other through the use of emotes while waiting in the lobby for the match to start! Here's NiGHTS' emotes, featuring some excellent references to both key art and concept art!

Included as well is a video of the emotes being used, needless to say when NiGHTS unlocked there was a lot of people playing as him!

Gameplay

The above video is footage of NiGHTS using the Dream Sleeper! Forgive the performance, I am definitely out of practice haha! I tried to get each of the air trick poses shown too!

The above video is footage of NiGHTS in a car (my regular vehicle of choice that I used to represent NiGHTS before he was in the game), I've included this as the air tricks vary depending on the type of vehicle used!

NiGHTS Festival

Around the same time as a character becoming available on Crossworlds, a Festival for that character also takes place, allowing you to unlock various cosmetics etc related to them! 

To unlock each item you must play in teams to earn points, with players assigned to either Team NiGHTS, Team Reala or Team Pian! This would alter the appearance of your vehicles to show which team you are assigned.

As I made my way through the ranks I made sure to screenshot each of the available items for unlock! 

Once the Festival was over each players final Festival Points amount and Ranking were calculated! Alas because I actually sleep I couldn't play enough to get into the Top 1000, Top 100 or Top 10 so I never unlocked Titles for these positions so if anyone would like to share a screenshot of each then by all means!

There was a great deal of love and attention to detail put into this NiGHTS collaboration, and I can only hope that the franchise continues to be represented so fondly by Sonic Team!

Could do without the front-mouth though lol, yikes!

One thing we have added to the site to celebrate is scans of the original NiGHTS into Dreams sheet music, viewable here, submitted by Jay Kennedy! Thanks Jay! If you play an instrument hopefully these can help you make some lovely performances of the NiD music!

[EDIT:] I've included some pictures I did during NiGHTS' 29th year to show that the franchise is still in my heart, these were done for fun and only shared on instagram initially! At the bottom I have also included a character model sheet I made for NiGHTS, perhaps a sign of something to come? Hehehe.

[UPDATE] SEGA Japan also shared the video below to announce the project, with a few NiGHTS highlights too!

This could be a very exciting thing to come in the future, and we'll keep our eyes peeled for future updates!

It seems that NiGHTS is coming to Sonic Rumble! No information has been given yet, aside from the image below as a teaser! 2 years in a row of getting something NiGHTS related in games, excellent!

Back in 2006 SEGA released Sonic Riders, a racing game in the Sonic Universe where everyone uses air boards called Extreme Gear. In typical SEGA fashion NiGHTS made a cameo as a playable character, this time riding on his board the Night Sky!

Also making an appearance in the two SEGA stages was Twin Seeds tower, a set piece you jaunt around, with NiGHTS imagery such as Nightopians and an Ideya Palace showing face too! The gameplay videos below show NiGHTS in the SEGA stages, recorded on an Xbox 360!

In the worlds worst kept secret (seriously, he was on the back of the box!), NiGHTS has been revealed as the next free DLC character for Sonic Racing Crossworlds! He is scheduled to be released in December, a fitting time considering the series' associations with Christmas! Also in the trailer are AiAi, Tangle and Whisper, the former of which finally has bottoms on

I'll make a proper page with some gameplay once he's actually released, and you might see me racing online as NightmarenNiGHTS! It's my only reprieve atm from a nightmare of a semester at uni TvT

Don't Forget NiGHTS~!

Hey, It's …TRiPPY (yes I'm still alive) with a quick heads up just to say that due to new UK online safety regulations coming into force tomorrow I'm having to take certain interactive aspects of the site offline. I just need some time to figure out what measures/services need to be implemented to keep everything running and within the law. Small UK website owners haven't really been given any real or good way to achieve this, with many choosing to close down instead. But this place is a legacy for me and I want to keep it around for years to come either updated or archived for game information purposes. Dex has done a fantastic job as admin here despite most of our system breaking down over the years. But it's important to me that this place still exists in some shape or form. I still adore NiGHTS of course and always will

So give me a few months to see what all the other small website owners are doing and I'll try to fix it all up again if it's possible. Laws will be laws if we agree with them or not. But I'm just being safe for the moment and to keep everyone else safe too.

Hello, it's been a while~!

LEGO IDEAS member Takuro has come up with a fantastic idea, a "NiGHTS into Dreams…" LEGO play set! If you're unfamiliar with LEGO IDEAS, members submit designs for people to support, and if it reaches a certain amount of supporters within a time period LEGO themselves could release the set officially!

So get those LEGO accounts going and support this set because this is one that deserves to be made! And will likely need it too, given the niche nature of the NiGHTS franchise~!
